  • Conifer cuttings

    Hello

i am trying to do some cuttings from my conifer trees but every time i try they just seem to end up drying out and dying.

I have used both root power and gel for different batches, always in good drainage compost, i dont water to regular as i read that they dont like it but i dont let the compost dry out completly.

    what am i doing wrong?

    cheers

Hi,i think i've read that you just push the cutting into sandy soil and let it get on with it,i might be wrong but you can but try, cheers kev.

It says they take up to a year to take root.

I've always had more success with hardwood cuttings if I put them in the ground, not in a pot.
            Can you try that?
