No - I have dedicated areas where I throw all old flower seed heads, and I've got a lovely display of white poppies right now.
a - poppy seeds are edible
b - they bring insects in that control greenfly
c - the bring colour into the lottie
d - if you don't want the seeds, you can nip the seed heads off once the flower is gone
I have transplanted leeks and garlics that are flowering into my flower bed, it is around the rasp bed, and also has violas [hartsease], other alliums, white and red poppies, nigella, limanthes, borage, nasturtiums, echinacea...it is the middle bed so a lovely display right in the middle of the plot.

They are really easy to pull out, and provide lots of lovely compost material

The white ones at my lottie are lovely.
Might take a photo later.Last edited by zazen999; 10-06-2009, 04:38 PM.

No Two Sheds, I'd let you keep them. I love poppies even although they do seed all over the place if you don't watch them. I have some of the yellow ones we call Welsh poppies. and I've grown some of the red ladybird and some mixed colours. I'm looking forward to the show.
