  • Don't sweet peas smell nice!?

Grown them for the first time this year, and cut a few to put in a couple of little vases we have.

They're on the windowsill in the lounge, and I was greeted by the waft when I opened the door this morning.

    Lovely.

*any remnants of my masculinity have just blown out the dooor along with the pollen.

    Yes they do.

And surely it takes a man who is very sure of his masculinity to say that.

I love the scent of sweetpeas, so does Madmax. They were our wedding flowers, so I hope mine which were finally planted out last week get a move on and flower in time for our anniversary!

Summer just isn't summer without sweetpeas - the scent is so heady.

            I love sweetpeas!

Pity my 2 packets of seed that I sowed this year didn't come up at all!

I had to buy two pots in from the garden centre and they're still only about 20cm tall and just green

Yes, they smell gorgeous Hey Wayne, and your masculinity doesn't disappear with the enjoyment of their scent or the soapy bubbles going down the sink or kissing babies. But you already know that.

I wish I could smell them! We have bunches indoors, but I lost my taste buds 13 years ago, and my sense of smell with them.

Mr Sheds said they smell nice though, "like perfume". There's a bunch of philadelphus (I can almost smell that) and sweet williams too.

My sweetpeas are gorgeous. As I mentioned before I have spencer mix and they are divine, I also have loads of others and have been picking loads of them 3 more bunches yesterday that I gave away. The more you pick the more you get.

Mine don't have the slightest hint of a flower.
Seem to remember Miss Piskie was first last year?

                        I love sweet peas too

Never had much success with them in that mine always seem to attract greenfly and blackfly- and if I took them home to enjoy ( from the lottie) I'd have a sticky mess around the vase- very off putting I can say!

Those are the flower section I linger around at any flower competition- they look fantastic and smell wonderful
Well done for being able to grow them Wayne!!!!
