One of my potted Fuchsias (Mrs Popple) has rapidly developed brown leaves and looks on the verge of death despite being adorned with flowers. The speed this came on and the look of it reminds me of blight (which has just started to hit my tomatoes). So could it be blight ?

Dunno what family fushsias are but have never heard of them with blight.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

No, fuchsias don't get blight. probably some pest that you can't see with the naked eye.
Or maybe too much too little water.
i have a good few fuchsias and have to say they are quite temperamental.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

One of my fuchsias just suddenly died for no reason ... when I investigated I discovered *SOMEONE* had snapped off the main stem and tried to cover up the evidence with a bit of soilAll gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

We had a foreign gent in our house when the children were younger; name of Nt Me. Whenever anything 'bad' happened, one of the offspring would declare "It was Nt Me!"
Perhaps he's moved to your place, TSLast edited by basketcase; 19-08-2009, 01:30 PM.
