  • Sweet peas for wedding in Suffolk this Saturday

Last October I asked for help with sweet peas as my son's fiancée wants sweet peas for their wedding. I received lots of helpful advice and my husband has done a marvellous job keeping them going (He picks them every couple of days and feeds them). However, over the last few days the plants seem to be dying off rapidly and we are worried that by the time of the wedding - this Saturday (22nd August)there will be very few blooms left. Does anyone in the Eye or Lavenham area of Suffolk have any to spare that we could buy or beg, or know of anywhere we could get some? You would make one prospective bride very, very happy! (Not to mention extra Brownie points for the Mother-in-law!)

My daughter is to marry in August 2010 and I have the task of 'making' table decorations (10 tabales) using sweet peas. Any tips for growing on time/ or suggestions for decorations?
        Cheers

Perhaps you could sow them successionally like you would for edible peas?

I did my own table decorations this year for peanuts by using herbs and greenery cut from gardens, also my mum, sister and sister's friend added to what I grew by donating flowers from their gardens. We only had to buy a few in the end. Each decoration was different.
I cut the sweet peas the day before and they kept ok overnight in the wet oasis for the day itself.
