What germinates and does well started now?

What flower seeds are you sowing this month?

I've been 'falling over' alot recently, and loads of flower seed heads have been falling straight into my pockets - no idea how that happens.

Many of them I can't remember what they were when I - er - 'fell over'....but they will be going into modules soon and being grown all winter and will be put in the beds in the spring.

I also start stuff such as rudbeckias and echinaceas this time of year. MY theory is that things that are self seeding now need to go into soil now, and have a good cold winter to germinate when they are ready.

I have pansies, violas and kohl rabi, spinach, spring onions and put a last sowing of turnips in the lottie.

I've got Blood Red wallflowers on the go, in modules (the direct sown ones disappeared).

My cream wallflowers still haven't made seed ... but the good news is they've got lots of fresh foliage, so I'll give them a trim and treat them as a short-lived perennial

Do you sow into modules/pots and then leave outside or do you pamper them indoors or in a greenhouse. I think its a great disappointment to sow or free sow and then not get anything. So looking at good certs.

I've sown into modules and then put outside at home: Viola, 2 types of spinach and a few hollyhocks.

Continually collecting and then immediately sprinkling Love-In-The-Mist seeds into beds.

Yesterday I quickly popped down to the lottie to sprinkle some white Champion (Lychnis Coronaria) along my boundary fence/public pathway, as it was about to rain and I thought that maybe 1 or 2 might sow themselves. I'll have the opportunity to collect more seed in the next couple of weeks, so if they don't take I'll also sow a few in modules/plastic propagator and leave outside.

Also sprinkled marigold seeds into beds that will be growing brassica's next year, again just leaving it too nature, as these would self sow if left.

I intend to sow direct cornflowers, poppies and pot marigolds sometime in the next month or so.
