Daffodils are out already (October!)

Yeah, I planted them a bit too early (Sept), then we got a warm spell in early October and they thought it was April.

Here's one (Thalia), with pelargoniums and dahlias in the background.

You've just reminded me - when we were last in the UK ( about 6 weeks ago) the grape hyacinth leaves were a couple of inches high...I wonder if they have flowered by now???
That too is a sun trap- S/W facing tub.
That's a pretty daff by the way- do you know what variety it is?

The daff is Thalia, and the garden is on the north side of the house, though this patch is at the sunny end

A couple of my dwarf ones also flowered. They've been in the ground for 3 years now, so it's nothing to do with planting out late I think.

Jings Two Sheds. I've never seen that. I didn't think it was possible to get them to flower outside their season. Something strange going on.

I saw Sol d'ors for sale today. In October!! They were always the first sign of Spring to me. I don't like this at all, there seems to be no start 'nor end to the seasons now.

This thread reminds me. Is it unusual to have a second flush of strawberries now? We have loads on various plots on our allotment site. All ripening nicely in the end of October sun

Never had a second flush this late before..but yey!!!!..we've got some too!!

I planted some oxalis bulbs in pots not 4 weeks ago and they are fnow flowering - meant to be mid-spring!

I have a friend who once planted all her daffs in early spring (in Scoltand) and ended up with a summer display of them - she was the talk of the town!
