Tall, or tallish?
I planted some foxgloves (seeds donated by a very kind grape) and thought they'd maybe reach 4-5ft.
They towered over me.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Delphiniums perhaps, not much to look at in the first year but by eck do they make up for it in the second. Gladioli (think Morrisey and Dame Edna Everage) and, slightly smaller are snapdragons, they are very easy and come back every year.A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)

Hey Wayne, i was actually hoping they might be able to assist in adding a bit of privacy, not total blocking out my neighbours but just a little bit more of an unobtrusive barrierLife isnt about surviving the storm.....But learning to dance in the rain.

I'd definitely choose Hollyhocks, Delphiniums and Foxgloves. Climbing Roses and Clematis up the fence behind too. You can't have too much of a good thing.

With regards to Hollyhocks, I am sure they only flower the 2nd year so if saving seed you need to have seeds sown from the previous year as they take 2 years to flower. If that makes sense.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Japanese anemones look stunning and give loads of colour / interest in the autumn as well.
I also like verbena bonariensis - it seems to last all year here but that maybe because we have a mild climate. But it self seeds like mad and is quite elegant!!Wars against nations are fought to change maps; wars against poverty are fought to map change – Muhammad Ali

Elecampane is fantastic. Light green, slightly furry looking basal leaves and massive yellow flowers!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
