Just bought 2 Camelia plants, what do I do now?

I haven't got a clue where these are concerned so perhaps some flower experts could give me some advice please.

I have just bought two Camelia plants for £2.29 each from B & M BM Stores: homepage as I liked the colours, not sure what type of Camelia they are. One says Camelia Red, the other Camelia Bicolour.

They are in 9cm pots and measure approx 30cm tall.

I am going to be growing them in large pots but I assume I just pot them on to a bigger plant pot for now, is that right?

Hopefully they are the same as in the pics when they blossom (assuming I don't kill them off).

I inherited one of the common pink camellias with the house, it's not in acid soil and I never feed it, but it's huge and flowers it's socks off every Spring

Bit tricky to get going, but once they're settled they're lovely. I have a pink one in the garden that was here when I took the tenancy and it flowers beautifully every year. Bought a white one to put near it and three years later it is still struggling.

That site says best to use rainwater but I am sure I read somewhere that if you let tap water stand for a while then that is ok, does anyone know if that is correct?

Nah, limescale doesn't evaporate

As Twosheds says, the problem is lime in the water. If you live in a hard water area then tap water is not good.

Mine too, it's in full flower now, if I could get to grips with posting pics I would show you Never done a thing with it and it never lets me down!
