Are you growing in spent mushroom compost by any chance? We had a flush of this fungus over our woodland area in the Autumn just after we mulched it.Comment

Gosh- it looks like the Jews Ear fungus - usually found on Elder trees!!!!

It does indeed look like Jew's Ear - and it does indicate the compost is over-wet. Let it dry out and you shouldn't have too much fungus problem.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I'm using the god sent B&Q multi purpose compost. The sweet peas are on a rack outside the greenhouse hence the wet tubes. Thanks for your input everyoneComment
