  • Fuschia leaves yellowing

    Hi everyone,

most of my fuschia seem to be getting yellow edge leaves, there not dropping, but obviously don't look right.
Some are in pots, some in hanging baskets on a south facing wall, it has been hot lately, so I've watered most nights as they have felt light. So my thoughts are over watered, or need a feed, which I must admit I don't usualy do, I have googled and it seems to offer those 2 reasons, but have you dealt with this problem? any advice please as there's probably 20 plants at least, be a shame to loose them, any advice appreciated.

They are simply too hot. While we are having this spell of hot sunny weather can you take them off the south facing wall and put them somewhere in the shade or semishade?

      Hi,

thanks for replying, but I'm not sure it's that, a the last few days I've noticed that a couple of my larger fuschia in pots, not windowbox's, but still against
the house, don't have this yellowing, I'm still confused!
The ones affected were bought as small plants in trays from a large diy chain,
perhaps it's something in there genes

It could be the variety, or they may simply need feeding. The nutrients in the compost don't last forever.

Fuchsias don't like full sun, they are woodland type plants, preferring semi-shade.

Mine suffered the same early this year. They recovered and now are bursting out of the pots.
            Hope yours recover the same.
