Hi I have had some hellebore seeds undercover on the windowsill in potting compost for 2 weeks and no signs of anything happening. Anyone any advice how to grow these from seed please.

I've just had a look om the T&M website and for Helleborus Niger they describe germination as very slow and possibly up to 18 months!

    Apparently 3-4 years to flower.

    Hope you're patient.

My hellebores self seed into the wood chip (and even slate chip) paths underneath the parent plants. Why not stick your seed tray in a quiet bit of the garden and see if you get a nice surprise next year.

Leave them outside - they need a long session in the cold, and will probably emerge as little seedlings in spring.
