I would say you could sow them anytime from now - depends how much space you have for potting on really!
My dahlias from seed did really well last year, i couldn't keep up with the deadheading. I've left them in the ground over winder so it will be interesting to see if any survive.
There's vegetable growing in the family, but I must be adopted Happy Gardening!
Yeah we've left some in to overwinter, the 3 that we grew last year from seed and a Bishop of Landaff that we bought - hope they've survived we forgot to mulch them!
