This lovely plant made an appearance this year & have no idea what it is. On searching, I am leaning towards Calendula but am unsure. I have collected 100's of seeds for next year but cannot label the envelope until I find out what it is. Many thanks for your advice.

I'd go with old english marigold too!
C shaped seeds
I've got loads in both yellow and orange- and some have a brownish centre.
Started with one packet 2 yras ago- and now I've loads and given them to friends and family!!
...you'll find they self seed too- so watch out for seedings in the Spring- and move them to where you want them. They move very easily when small!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

It is indeed. These will happily self seed - I've had some in my veg plot at home for 8 years now, son-of, etc.
The petals can be sprinkled on a salad and I understand they will colour rice like saffron (only cheaper!) but haven't tried that. You can make a hand cream with them too, with lard! (Or Vaseline)Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Yes I would also agree, I love them and let them go mad in my veg garden! they keep alsorts at bay mixed amonst other plants i.e carrott fly because they smell, but they did get a bit carried away in the spinach and when the leaves are young it is difficult to tell the difference, not so good.
