IIRC it self seeds every year - so once you have it it lasts for a good few years! (Unless you shear it to keep it compact and take the seed heads off).

Got quite a big area which id like to cover but i dont think it gets the sun all day?

It used to be known (in the Olden Days when I were a lass!) as Sweet Alyssum which is why the bees love it.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
