  • South Facing climbing plants

I have a small 4' high south facing wall bordering a lawn that I would like to cover with an evergreen flowering plants.

    Anyone any suggestions?

Bearing in mind I am in the cold North East of England

Here- have a look at this...

      Emory Knoll Farms

As 2sheds suggest- you could enjoy a gentle wander through Google!

I love the sedum and the larger spiral floret plants you see on shed roofs...can't remember name.
And periwinkles...they will tumble down the wall

I've stuck in a few nasturtium seeds in our dry stone walls and they have managed to grow with a tiny bit of extra watering.

Your search skills are better than mine - I could only get pages from the USA.
The ones mentioned on the google page aren't really what I was after, I had thought of Wisteria, but its not evergreen, and Clematis doesn't seem to have a long enough flowering season

So get several different ones to extend your season

I have right now, honeysuckle, passionflower and clem with green leaves on, and come spring/summer I'll have masses of other clems, jasmine and sweet peas

(sorry- was thinking that a 4' wall wasn't tall enough for 'normal' climbers)

Good point Nicos. He could prune back of course, but it'll be an ongoing job: those climbers want to reach for the sky

Perhaps a low hedge, perhaps pyracantha (for the birds) and then something prettier in the summer, a tall one like delphinium?
