Well, I'm venturing into planting something that isn't a herb or a vegetable this year, and figured as I know nothing and folks here know tonnes, it would be the right place to ask as usual!
Basically I have clay soil (almost solid apart from pockets of red ants) and will be building two 30cm tall raised beds on top of it, with around 50cm by 25cm space each for planting two climbers either side of an archway. I also have a small boy and am hoping for another soon ish, so it's fairly important that the climber does not produce any tempting looking poisonous berries for them to try and eat. Cause they probably would.
I would love it to attract lots of bees however, as my garden doesn't have much to do this at all.
Are there any good plants out there that I can start to look at or should I stick to an outdoor grape or hop?
