Shamrock

Mother-in-law got some shamrock at the street parade on Saturday and when she got home and n wrapped the tin foil it was kept in she see that the shamrock has roots on it.

So in a bid for survival she rushed it round to me (in her purple corsa ambulance) and expected me to perform a miracle of life support to get it back to life. As by this point it was the Sunday morning and I was very very hungover I just grabbed a pot of compost stuck it in and sent her on her way so I could get back to bed. Anyway I now feel guilty that I didn’t give it good loving care and didn’t ever read anything to tell me if that is how it is grown.

Long story but does shamrock grow in pots or water? How can I keep her plant alive?

It should be OK. I would keep it in a pot as once it is established it becomes very invasive

Hi Silverfox, sounds like you did the right thing to me. They were selling little pots of shamrock in compost at the Irish market in Manchester last week & it looked quite healthy, didn't buy any though - too tight!

Hi Silverfox,

I've got quite a bit of shamrock in my garden. I split it up last year and moved it around the garden. Once it gets going this year if you would like a piece let me know.
