You might find that the dark pink one suits your ground - it does mine, unfortunately. The white one I have to keep in a pot in ericaceous compost.
Have a look round your neighbourhood, see if anyone else has camellias (I'm sure you've already done this though )

Actually I hadn't consciously looked around locally, but now you mention it I can't think of a single one I have seen around here. Perhaps folk like me just assume they won't work?

There's a fabby nursery near us (i.e. knowledgeable proprietor), I'll ask if they have anything suitable as its a lovely plant and it would be nice to have one. But for the avoidance of doubt I WILL NOT BE MOLLYCODDLING IT IN A TUB !!
