I bought a Kleim's Hardy Gardenia at the end of last Summer and it looked and smelled rather nice. However, it didn't seem that hardy and has spent most of the Spring looking a bit brown and a bit crispy.
I then tried to neaten it up with some secateurs and it now resembles a clawing skeletal hand reaching out of the soil. The twigs aren't rotten, they seem to have sap in them - so I was wondering if this recoverable? Or shall I just compost it?
I also didn't use Ericaceous compost which probably didn't help it's short miserable life in my care.
I want some more of these (I was hoping to get lots of cuttings) but I want them to live a bit longer than this one.
Anyone grow these and have some advice?
