christmas cactus

a few weeks ago i took 8 Y shaped cuttings of a christmas cactus plant and potted four to a pot in regular compost. I've kept them somewhere warm out of direct sunlight and watched for signs of growth.

A few of the cuttings have now got small flower buds forming on the end the branches. i was a bit worried as the segments were (and still are) looking a bit floppy and shriveled.

how should i care for them now?

should i pot them on one to a pot?

am i right in thinking they don't like direct sun?

i plan to use a mix of compost and sand - is this right?

should i feed them? if so i something like baby bio ok?

Are you absolutely sure they are flower buds and not new leaf segments? I would leave them for a bit anyway - I don't pot on till the original pot has roots showing through the drainage holes. My Christmas cactus are grown in multipurpose compost - no added sand, and they are fine.

They like to be baked in the summer to 'ripen' to develop the flowers. I have one in the bathroom which took several years to flower - the mummy plant was dark red in full sun - the baby is pink and very scented at night! Possibly because the bathroom is shadier.
Regular potting compost, regular watering and feeding. Not too wet.
