Can anyone identify the flower shown? We thought Larkspur but our neighbour, from whose garden it escaped, says it's a delphinium. It self seeds very easily and the flowers last some weeks.

The leaves look wrong for a delphinium but everything else looks right. If the bleddy rain stops, I will go and take a picture of mine for comparison.A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)

I thought delphinium and larkspur were the same thing
As Scarey says, the flowers look right, but the leaves look wrong!

Larkspur is annual I believe, delphinium is definitely perennial. Whatever it is, it's managing to grow sideways!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
