  • Help to identify a lovely plant

I see this lovely plant in a garden nearby and wondered if anyone knows what it is?

It's about 12" wide, 18" high with lovely greyish foliage and single pink flowers on long stems.

    Thanks for reading

I think it is a lychnis, a sort of campion. Our neighbour has some and it is stunning

It is indeed. You can also get them with white flowers though the 'poke-in-the-eye pink' is more eye catching (or eye-watering depending on your point of view!) There are some of these in our village flower beds and they do get favourable comments.

It's a very popular colour. While we were out plant shopping together last week, my friend eagerly fell on some geraniums that colour (while I popped mne sungalsses on!)

I've just realised, my avatar is quite a "poke in the eye pink" mesembryanthemum

Is it easy to take cuttings from? My neighbour has one, which I have admired, and I was going to ask her if she would mind....

It's a bi-annual so scrounge some seed. Iv'e tried sowing them in trays but have had more success just scattering them where they are to grow, then they will grow like weeds.

Lychnis Coronaria loves a sunny well drained spot. They will seed every where if happy.
I love this eye popping cerise colour to! I use it as an accent colour in my blue border.
