Another ID please!

Bad photo, had someone take it whilst I was driving past it. The flower petals look almost square in shape, I think 4 per flower. Any idea - I've zoomed in a bit on it, but don't have any photo editing tools here so can't sharpen it.

The flower petals are an intensive light pink contrast against the leaves.

I can't tell if it's something climbing through the bush or not, however. I'll try and stop next time I'm driving past for a better photo if it'd help?

I don't think it's that, they're the big blooms of petals/flowers aren't they? This is more flat, rather than curly petals, they're seperate rather than tightly bunched. It's probably the blur of the photo that isn't helping.. Unless there's another sort of hydrangea that's like this.

I'll stop off either tonight or Monday morning depending on the time.. I've the perfect place for something like this

I would knock on their door and ask, but I don't want to bother them, or worry them (they're elderly) by asking about it (never know if they might think I'm checking the place out or something like that!)

looks more like a clematis to me, doesn't hydrangea have big ball shaped heads with 4 petal flowers? could be my eyesight though...

I'd go for hydrangea too. Google Image Result for http://www.mooseyscountrygarden.com/shrubs/lacecap-hydrangea.jpg As you can see, from the lacecap one, the outer flowers open first.

It is a Hydrangea serrata.

Apologies I just thought they were the ones with the pink/blue huge blooms of petals. They're nice, but over done around me, I'd like my garden to be different.

Lacecap hydrangea?

Is that the same as the Serrata? They look very similar

I'm going to pop in on my way back from work one day and ask if I can take a couple of cuttings.

I think they've helped you - Lacecap Hydrangea was my thought too. I always think they looked more refined that the 'commoner' ones!
