I am looking for a fast climber which can be used up the front of the house. I was looking at Russian Vine, will this damage walls? Any other suggestions for fast climbers?

If you can find them in pots, they're fine to plant now.
Fast growing is always a big ask: they don't know when to stop. Russian Vine in particular is an absolute nightmare. I put some virginia creeper on the front of the house [anything to disguise the disgusting frontage]. Looks good in the summer and autumn, not so good in winter obviously, but you do have to chop it away from the windows, and i will at some point have to borrow a ladder to keep it out of the guttering.

Depends which way your wall is facing. For North walls a climbing hydrangea is hard to beat. For South it's a Wisteria everytime for me. Clematis Montana is fairly quick and scented but you will need vine eyes and wires. Solanum scrambling through a climbing rose another option. Russian Vine is quick but destroys mortar in brickwork as does ivy once it gets a foothold. Steer clear IMO!Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein
