Does anyone grow these? I love sweet peas for their scent and have grown them for the last three years. In the latest T&M catalogue there are perennial sweet peas which would be great for a border at the allotment, but if they don't smell the same .... So if anyone can advise me I would be grateful. Thanks very much.

I had a perennial sweet pea in the garden, and when I finally decided I wanted it out, what a job! It had grown roots like a small tree, about 3 inches diameter!
After much digging, I had to use an axe to cut through the roots where they had gone under a concreted path, and for several years it kept coming up again, until I finally resorted to weedkiller on it.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

I sowed some several years ago and they look beautiful every year over an arch in the garden. They tend to flower a bit earlier than my annual ones but as said above, don't smell. I saved some seeds last year which I planted this spring and am currently growing on pots so that I can trail some of them over the lottie shed.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
