Gladioli not flowering

Hi All
I planted my gladioli bulbs few months back (struggling to recollect when as I read a thread on this forum about 100 days needed to flower) and they hav healthy leaves but no flowers yet. They are butterfly gladioli so dwarf variety and are in a large pot (50 bulbs). I planted them close in layers as indicated on a gardening website. Any ideas what could have gone wrong? Have I planted too many all together? Do they need water/food?
I really hope they do flower as the large pot was supposed to be highlight of my garden

dont know about dwarf varieties but my glads did not flower first year and when you split the corms the baby ones dont flower at first either.....

First year of growing the bulbs should be big and strong enough to produce flowers, although I have to say that 50 glads in one pot sounds rather a lot. They often produce flowers just when you have given up on them. Mine have just flowered on the allotment.

I don't think mine flowered in the first year either, I might have planted them too late though (as is usual with me and bulbs ) Don't give up on them, if they don't flower this year, next year will be wonderful.

I got some flowering & some blind,bit later than planned for but I buried them 10 inches down so they can stay in the ground through the winter (should be frostproof at that depth )

I always plant at least 50 corms I get from Aldi each year foe £1.99. This year I planted 100 corms in two batches, early April and two weeks later.
This has given me a successsion of cut flowers which allows me to take a bunch home a couple of days each week lately.
If the corms were a decent size, (A 50p piece) they should flower the first year. If they don't flower it may be worth digging them up when the leaves have died down, storing the hopefully decent sized corms and planting agin next year. The corms don't overwinter in this neck of the woods!

Glads are one of the few flowers I have in my garden. They haven't flowered yet, but I know they will soon.

Ta guys. I'll wait patiently to c if any flower this yr. In terms of storing over winter could I move the pot to my garage. Or do I have to dig them up? Was Planning to do the same ( move pot to garage) with my dahlias. Will it work?
