  • Love-in- a mist, anyone?

    That is not an offer!

Pops has some seeds sent to him by a charity ages ago, and I had an ooh moment. Any one know about these nigella damascena things?

Cheers, my lovely! I will scatter them next year. no good comes from seeds sat in one's seedbox. Have ran out of space in Pop's garden for this year.

they will come up over and over again cos they spread their seeds around..also easy to save the seeds and the seedpods (or whatever the proper name is) are ornamental also so the plant lasts a long time.

Really really pretty but seed all over the place. Look good in vases too as they are quite 'architectural'

I had trouble with them this year, although I do have a few small weedly plants in the garden. Read yesterday that they always do better from an autumn sowing, so I'll be doing that later in the year.

but the crucial question is...can you scoff 'em?
Are the seeds the same as black onion/nigella seeds? NOt that I exactly use huge bushels of them, but you never know
