suggestions for semi shaded area under a tree?

On my recently acquired allotment, there is a large apple tree at the front of the plot which is semi shaded. I am hoping to plant some wildflowers and bulbs there, but no idea what and how? I am hoping to lay down some perennials for spring interest now (such as snowdrops, daffodils etc) but what do you suggest for summer/autumn/winter? I don't want anything too big (foxgloves!!) or vulgar, just a nice, colorful corner of the plot.

I am hoping to have some wildflowers (can get mixed packet of seed) but it doesn't say online if these are perennial? I guess they are not...

Bonus points if the plants attract pollinators

Most of the wildflowers are not perennial, but they do self seed so keep themselves going that way (especially poppies).

Snakes head grows well under my neighbours cherry tree, I guess they flower late spring until early summer here.. Grannies bonnet also grows under the same tree, and lasts longer, it self seeds freely (it's like a weed around us).

I'd definitely suggest limnanthes, it's good ground cover, winter hardy, self-seeds and provides nectar for pollinating insects

I'd go with all the above. A few packets of seed can make a beautiful show, for just a few quid. Bulbs are also fab, and you have many to choose from, too.

For autumn or winter, try some hardy cyclamen. They don't need much care and will self seed around without becoming a nuisance. I've had some for years in the garden and the corms are as big as dinner plates!
