I have a pink one in my garden that I acquired as a cutting. And I had a lovely dark purple one (also from a cutting) until the dog decided to dig it up for me.

There are four in my parents' garden. A white one, a purple one and a blue one. None of these has ever self-seeded and are well-behaved as I lop them back hard each Spring.

The fourth is a pink one that I thought my brother had planted. Turns out he hadn't and that one self-seeds everywhere so I'll be digging it out later this autumn.

They strike easily from cuttings, just don't take a cutting from a random plant. Make sure it's a good garden variety.

There's a link from this RHS page, on how to take the cuttings:

Make sure you have enough room, they really get pretty big even with annual pruning

just get hold of a head of flowers, and throw it somewhere about 7 miles away, and you will find it in your garden. I hate it.
Having said that though, getting hold of a head of gone over flowers and shaking it around will guarantee you seedlings. And it grows fast. Next door's volunteer one has grown to 16 ft in 2 years.

I had a buddleia in the back garden when I moved in here five years ago. Having had one, or rather, tried to get rid of for years, at my old house, it promptly got dug up. However.. five six years later I STILL find it growing in places far away from where the original bush was. Urrghh...

Sorry, I had an over-exagerration momjent, it's only about 12 foot/ But it's right over my veg beds. Grrrr not-so-smiley.
I have seen some white ones though, quite pretty.

Pretty while they're white, but they need vigilant dead-heading or the flowers turn brown quickly
