  • Bacopa

Has anyone successfully propagated bacopa. I love it in my baskets and ususally buy new plugs each year but now that I've been made redundant I'm looking to save pennies. If you have a failsafe method of taking cuttings please share it with me. Also although I take at least 100 fushia and pelegonium cuttings each year it's a bit hit and miss as to germination. Any tips with taking cuttings in general would be welcomed.

I have two heated propagators and two unheated in the greenhouse if that helps. i generally use those in spring for toms etc

Yes, I take bacopa cuttings every year if I remember; technique is the same as for fuchsias - How to take Fuchsia Cuttings

In the summer I root fuchsias in water, but at this time of year with cold nights I'm doing them in a heated prop, turned off if the day is warm.

Pelargoniums are cut in the same way (below a leaf node) but don't root them in water or cover them with a cloche of any kind: they like to be drier
