Liatris

The leaves on my liatris have gone brown. It's in a hot border in slightly acidic soil. I've been reading that it's quite easy to grow and is happy in the heat, but mine's not looking too healthy.

Any ideas about what the problem is?

Mine have gone the same this week! I've just watered them in the hope that they are thirsty, the ground was bone dry....
