  • can someone ID this poppy please?

Hi, any idea what type of poppy this is please? It appeared this year (didn't see it last year after we moved in) - large red or pink flowers, and wide leaves which had a more silvery tint to them earlier on (think they have deteriorated a bit now). The leaves are smooth, not hairy. Based on a google the flowers look a bit like orientales but the foliage doesn't match up... I'd mainly like to find out whether they are annuals or perennials, ie should I move them to a better location, or should I save and sow the seed?!
    thanks!!

Looks like an opium poppy to me. Opium poppy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Don't panic, they produce lovely flowers and seed freely.

Definitely ordinary common opium poppy not an oriental. They have large blooms and green foliage. It's probably blown seed from other garden. They grow everywhere. I have them blowing everywhere.
