I bought some small roses last week. I want to plant them, I dont when the best time would be? Also there looks like 4 individual plants in each pot, should I plant them as they are or split them up?

You can plant them now, as long as the ground isn't frozen. Any idea what variety they are?

I have no Idea what variety they are, the buds are red, and they are quite small.

Sounds like what are known as patio roses. They never get very big, so often do better in large pots or troughs.

Are they really, really small? The sort that are given as gifts and are meant to be kept indoors? I've had some like that but they would disappear from view if they went out in the garden.

They're going to have spent their whole lives indoors, right? If so, they won't like being plunked outside in the middle of winter. They might survive, they might not.

I would at the very least harden them off for a fortnight before planting them. If you can, keep them cool and light until spring warms up, do it then.
