Hi all
I planted 22 x 60-80cm bare root green privet plants 3 or 4 weeks ago, to form a new hedge behind my house. 19 of them have recently started to bud new leaves and look generally healthy, but 3 of them (that looked a bit dry when I planted them) still look dry, are losing their leaves and aren't budding new leaves that I can see. (I've watered them all regularly).
I know that privet can lose leaves when transplanted, but since the others are doing OK I suspect that the 3 problem plants may be dud. Should I leave them a bit longer, or should I be digging them up and getting replacement plants in before it's too late? Or, I could trim the dry ones back a bit and see if that kick starts them, but I'm not sure if this would really help...
Many thanks in advance.
