Capsid, I'm prepared to be wrong, but the leaves in the OP photo are distinctly lobed: the leaves of the gaillardia in your photo are smooth

When the plants are young the leaves look like that, mine do anyway. I'll try to take a photo of mine on the weekend and show you.
