Orchid Compost Recipe?

I've just been sent some White Egret orchid bulbs. The planting instructions were a bit blurred so has anyone had experience of growing these? Do they need a special compost or will a good multi purpose compost mixed with compost from the dalek, be good enough. They will be grown in a container.

cannot answer your question,but what a lovely looker,did'nt know the came as a bulb,the 1 i have is a rosett type of big leaves,with thick roots,the growing medium it's in is a barky dry stuff,only water now and then,

Orchid compost needs to be very free draining as the roots can rot off if they get too wet. I would buy some orchid compost which is mostly large bark chips.
