Conifer dying..

I planted up a 42l tub to sit outside my back door with a couple of dwarf conifers, a couple of heathers and some ivy but I just noticed that one of the conifers (the low spreading one) is going yellow at the ends and the leaves are dropping off.
Any ideas as to why this is??
(its planted in eraceaous compost and has a good drainage layer in the bottom, also only been watered with rain water....probably overwatered TBH, unless I put an umbrella over it!!LOL).

hmmm, clearly no dwarf conifer experts on the forum then!

Sorry Kentishgal - personally I can't abide conifers, but if you could post a picture or two that might help with identifying the problem.
