  • Rosie, Rosie Give me your stem to chew....

Ignore the title, I am in a funny mode today lol.
But here is my Royal Rose.
I moved into a flat 2 years ago, and there was a dead looking stem that I guessed was a rose by the dead prickly bits.

So I took to seeing if I could revive it.
It's first bloom took place on the Royal Wedding day last year (Just one flower)... which was quite cool, so its now my Royal Rose.

And here is its first blooms this year!

    Just thought I would share!

Any Idea what type of rose it is?

Looking at your photo, after careful thought and consulting all of my books on roses, I can confidently say that the rose you have is a Red one.

At the last place I lived, (for 1 year) it had a average size rose bush, with bad black spot, but I brought the black spot spay and it cleared it up about 3 quarters of it, but never totally.

I love Roses, so had to try, and am quite impressed with it this year, looking very nice! we are buying a house at the moment, so this will be going out front on the driveway (planted) so we will see how it does over the years.

I like roses but only in someone else's garden. They're nasty, spiteful things. they tempt you closer with their sweet perfume, then, just as you go in for the sniff test, wham, snatch, you've been impaled on vicious thorns, and all those hateful roses can do is laugh!
