  • This weather.....

.....may be sh!t for GYO but my garden looks a treat.....never seen so much lush growth and everything seems to still be pretty much vertical (even with Jake intent on treading on it all) and flowering well.
Wish I could say the same for my veggies........

My thoughts entirely - I haven't been out in the garden since last weekend, because of work, except to let dog out or walk to compost bin and I looked around completely kn*******d after a week of rather intense work at least please that my beans were lush and growing, the lavender had shot up a treat and everything seemed to be loving the rain.. even more strawberries than ast year. I shall be going out in the garden and 'relaxing' - yeh right - more working lol even if there's another storm this weekend!

My veggies are fine, they're thriving, except I can't find them them in amongst all the lush weeds

I have one bed that I can't ( haven't bothered too/havent had time) to work out if what's cropping up amongst the known bulbs, herbs and flowers I've planted are weeds or another flower - I think my impatience causes me to have selective memory on what's been planted at times - so If I forget about it somehow it will grow quicker!

So everytime I walk past it I say "it's a beautiful flower/plant" LOL - see what comes up!

It's been a super year for grasses. I'm not so happy about the weed ones up the lotty, but my black bamboo has put on 3 years growth in a month I think, and the black stems are really showing now

I too have never seen the garden so lush, shame is that every time a poppy comes out the wind takes it down completely. At the minute I'm praying for driving rain and hard winds as BurtFest is on. It ain't a pretty noise. Send to me your rain PLEASE!

Same here, lots of luscious growth and poor poppies battered to within an inch of their life. Everything very slow on the veg front and slugs and snails thriving which has meant I have lost a few squash plants overnight! Decimated

Finally managed to get the lawn cut with the help of my daughter. All the shrubs, grass etc are growing like mad. The honeysuckle has scrambled it's way up into the apple tree, the snails are thriving and climbing like mad (found one ten feet up into the plum tree yesterday). BUT my poor veggies are hating this weather.
