Marrigolds

I bought some Marigolds today ( african Marigolds) as I heard they are good for planting inside your vegetable plots to ward off pests, or attract the pests predators?

Anyone confirm this and how they should be planted.

Some info here Tagetes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for you about marigolds. French marigolds are usually planted in greenhouses as they are supposed to deter greenhouse whitefly. African marigolds would probably do the same but they are usually much bigger plants.

Marigolds are excellent for companion planting. I have them in beds with lots of things ( wow makes em sound like a flower tart lol) and in planters that I can move around next to different crops.

I grow french marigolds in my greenhouse and also in my onion beds

I'm trying some marigolds amongst my brassicas this year as I had a real problem with whitefly last year. Too early to tell if it's helping but looks pretty. Bob Flowerdew has written a useful book on companion planting
