i have 8 varieties growing at mo, some from seed, some shop bought in reduced section, strangely as i planted them into the ground, my own seed ones were pathetic so i mixed them with the shop ones, my weedy looking ones took off and the shop ones done next to nothing, i currently have purples with long stems no scent, heirloom one pink and white gorgeous scent short stems, scented one last 2 days, the purple is still ok in jar 4 days after bit annoying

I've opened up a slug and snail rant thread. That'll show them.

I would have, but the rain waterlogged it.

Mine are doing well, better than last year in fact. Planted seeds New Years day then planted out last week of March. Have so many flowers I can pick a good bunch of 30-40 every couple of days. Nothing special about them either, just seed I saved from last year.
          Death to all slugs!

I have sweet peas on a north facing wall that are doing magnificently, and then some in south facing garden that seem to be somewhat struggling - shrugs.. I don't know why either....shouldn't it be other way round?..
