Hey, I've not posted in a while I just wondered if anyone could identify this poppy for me or, more importantly, if anyone could tell me whether it's a hybrid or not as I was planning on saving seeds. It's about 2 - 3 feet high, leaves are green (not blue/grey) and it's quite bushy (ie more than one flower per plant). Anyone have any ideas?

I love the red field poppies in their natural form. Some are growing up through the pavements on a street around here. They're lovely to look at - much better than those oversized oriental things that pump out all that stinking latex and have those ghastly giant flowerheads.
By the way, I bought some poppy seeds today but I'm worried I've left it too late. I've bought a mixed packet of Field Poppy, California Poppy and there's some black hybrid monstrosity too which I don't like the look of.
I've sown them in a window box and their indoors in a room that has been around 20 to 24c for the past few weeks.
Also does anyone know where I can get any Welsh Poppy seed? I keep seeing them around here in the marches (part of their native range) but none of the seed I've gathered as ever grown (probably it wasn't quite mature and sowing straight into grass didn't help either). I think they were the Welsh ones anyway, I've looked at the similar California's and Iceland's and they don't quite look the same).

I can get you some Marcher, it grows as a weed here Self seeds EVERYWHERE.
I'll have a look tonight and let you know if the seed heads are ripe. I might even be able to get a few spare plants - oh ARGH. Forgot to post someone else a plant. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
