  • what is a perennial, annual and evergreen

    Hi

I am getting a piece of land ready for planting, not the right time of the year; so my question is what will happen if I plant now.
I have specifically bought and grown from seed, perrenials. But the lupins and other plants will perhaps not be large enough to flower this year. And the odd perrenial in a tub that has already flowered.
So if I plant perenials from small pots into my prepared bed, what will happen. An everygreen will be there throughout the winter and an annual will reseed for next year, so a perenial will .....

Some perennials will lose their leaves through the winter but resprout in spring. Others will die back to ground level and will completely regrow next year. Some will also self seed. You plant a perennial in its permanent position and expect it grow larger over time.

Nah - its quantity, not necessarily quality

In my garden, if its healthy its a weed!! Put a bit of stick or something beside your plants as you put them out. Then if they die back in the winter you'll remember where they should come up again in spring

I tried white plastic ones, and after some time the writing was illedgable, I have bought some long wooden ones.

Still sowing seeds now, and have some that are small in trays, and a pot plant(senetti and another that I can remember the name of) that I have by my doorway will be put in the ground to, hopefully, regrow next year.
