Nope, can't think of a single flower I don't like from Anemone to Zantedeschia!

Originally posted by fruit&vegvirginwell I like fuchsia, but I like the little wildy type ones rather than the bred ones. the most common or garden one grows like a weed all over southern Ireland and Kerry in particular - everywhere you find the most beautiful fuchsia hedges. I tried to plant a similar hedge here, but we are not warm enough...
When we moved here from Essex 28 years ago my Dad didn't believe me when I said we had fuschia hedging - he reckoned I didn't know what one was!~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Agree with that RL, I loathe hydrangea, they always seem to be in gardens of abandoned houses which as a child you would be convinced were haunted... And they always look scraggy and wishy-washy bcoz people plant the wrong one for the type of soil they have. Nasty.
I also dislike 'grape hyacinth', get everywhere, & not that attractive.

I can't stand that Russian Vine stuff - and death's too good for pampass grass too! Otherwise they all have a certain charm.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Hmmm, cant say I hate any flowers as such, but can happily live without that yellow broom stuff, it stinks! And I'm not into fuschias or hydrangas either, and I can definitely live without most grasses, dont see the point of them really other than in the lawn !Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

The plants I really, really hate are chrysanthemums.
Mum and dad had a small greengrocery shop, which was basically the front room of a terraced house. The 'shop' spread into the living accommodation. At this time of year we were not allowed to have any heat on, 'as it would kill the flowers' ie chrysanths - 2/s a bloom aka 10p. Heaven only knows what the equivalent price would be today.
I really, really hate them. They remind me of cold miserable winters, and they stink.

I don't understand all the hype with roses to be honest - don't get me wrong, I don't hate them as such but I don't get why people get so caught up in them.
There probably are flowers I hate, but as for knowing their names....

Chrysanths ~ hate them, they're dead people flowers!
Hydrangea's other than the deep, deep blue ones.
Fuschia's...for all of the above reasons!
And daffodils! We used to be given a bulb in school which we had to grow and my Mum used to keep saying we'd plant it tomorrow and tomorrow never came! But a couple of weeks before they were due to be brought back in they were planted and stuck in front of the central heating vent to try and encourage some growth. If you got a flower from it you got a certificate in colour, if you had a bud you got a black and white certificate and if you had nothing you got nothing.....I generally got nothing!
