what plants

i have a shady area at the front of the garden under trees and all the local cats seem to use it as a toilet. what plants can i put there to deter them . saw some 2 year ago on holiday but cannot remember what they were called

Do you mean Coleus canina to deter cats. There's a thread about it on this forum if you search for it.

They're very tender ~ can only go outside April to Sept.

I had some of the above ^^^^ planted them in the splaces where they were digging, it did stop them but the found other places, they dont seem to 'cover an area' if you see what i mean, and as Two Sheds says, they didnt like the cold,IIRC they werent 'cheap' so i didnt bother buying the following year - we moved instead! lol

Just scattering holly leaves on the ground would probably deter the cats!
