Flowers to Take Over My Garden ?

Thats my next door neighbours sons tree house SBP. Some of the other neighbours moaned about it but it doesn't bother me as the clematis has covered it now & w regularly get a black bird nest in amongst it!

That was about 2 years old when that was taken. it was planted by the arch (between the arch and the fence and has spread both ways about that much plus covering the tree house ! Like I say I cut the shoots back fairly regular during the early part of summer so there is enough new growth to support he flowers.

That one is a double flower JA, if yours is a single flower it will be Clematis Montana 'rubens' for a guess or may be 'elizabeth' as I think that has pale pink flowers as well. still pretty vigourous but the root of that one is in the cool & damp (plus it gets the dregs of the feed in the watering can !!)

Yes it is Rat & I thinks its Trewithen Blue not sure though.

I like clematis, planted two today - but Montana is a thug you've got to be careful. When we bought this place the previous owners had let one run about a bit and it had worked its way under the utility room/garage flat roof!!! Fortunately it needed a new roof anyway.

It can be "vigourous" if you let it loose. I once had one that completely choked a Pyracantha!!

gorgeous clematis ntg. I love those montana ones. also there's one called Francis Rivis (I think) - pale blue viticella which is lovely.

I one saw a garden where there was a home made seat (quite a posh affair) set into a sort of inglenook in the garden with trellis planted with Clematis, there were two Ville de Lyon which is a sort of Cerise Red & Perle D'Azur which is a steely Sky Blue It was absolutely stunning You couldn't miss it !!

Lovely clematis indeed - I hope mine grows that well!

Does anyone know of any evergreen climbers - but not ivy. I just contructed an arch over the path I put in this week and would like to grow some kind of evergreen climber up on side of it. It would be nice to have some colour through winter in my garden!

My pet hate is hop! The plain green variety seems to have got into the gardens here and is seeding everywhere. Of course the stems are slightly 'hairy/sticky' so it clings onto everything and absolutely smothers the hedge! Hate it hate it hate it ....
