Rose help needed. URGENT!!!!!!

I have been given two standard rose trees as a birthday gift. They are about 32" bottom of pot to top. They were sent from NEXT store and came with no instructions or name or variety of rosé. (Very poor service as they cost £30 each) the rose is small with masses of petals , quite a round flat bloom when fully open. I've had them a week and put them outside within a day. (I live in Sussex) I've noticed some wilting of a couple do stems and the leaves in the centre are crisp and falling off. I'm terrified I lose them as they cost my friend so much. PLEASE can anyone tell me what variety they may be and what I can do to stop their rapid deterioration. I know only a little about roses. Thank you...

It may well be one of those. I will have a look. But what I'm desperate for is help on the problem of their deterioration and some advice on what the cause could be... Calling all rose enthusiasts out there!

There is a lot of plant care instructions on the description page of the above link ^. Also, judging by the name in brackets (beginninh with 'Aus') means they've been grown by David Austen roses, so you could go on their website for more info. If the plants keel over after you've followed all the instructions then the supplier is liable for replacements. Take photos for evidence.

I know they need lots of water to start with- and feed.
Are they exposed to a cold wind?
They may have needed a bit more time to get used to being outdoors - especially if they had been greenhouse grown/stored and then indoors with the post?
My roses last year didn't do well due to not enough water/feed- but they are coming back this year with very healthy leaves and growth.
Yours should recover.

I'm no rose expert but if yours were in flower, that's very early, and they must have been brought on it a hothouse. If so, the shock of going outside may have been a bit drastic.
You should get in touch with Next and ask them about the variety and care instructions.

Agree with VC, you've taken them from a forced environment of a polytunnel/greenhouse and thrown them out into the cold. It's shocked and so would I be take in at night for a week and gradually acclimatize them.

David Austin do breed Royal Jubilee. It's a new one for last year. As a customer of both Next and David Austin, it's the Giftarose service. The blooms on a DA rose tend to be quite heavy and do drop down. I would take off the bloom after fading, called deadheading and the leaves that have died. Give a good drink and see what happens thereafter. Unless it looks dead, in which case your friend should contact Next Customer Service in Enderby.

The roses in my garden have only just started to grow leaves, the flowers won't be along for some time yet. It's still too cold

Rose emergency!

Hi. My friend sent me two small. standard roses as a gift via NEXT. They were in appalling condition, I suspect not acclimatised first and I almost lost them within a week. Next we're very helpful and replaced them on the understanding I'd email what was I assume the supplier, with photos. Which I did. Though the supplier has not come back to me with at all. I've still got the originals but they are very poor.
We duly potted up ( spending a fortune on pots and rose compost) the two new ones.
I left them in a very sheltered spot last night as strong winds were forecast but on looking at them this morning the entire top has fallen off one of them. I'm not sure if its fallen off from the graft but its a complete break from the stem top.
Has any rosé grower some advice? I've emailed the supplier. Is this a common occurrence with standards? My friend paid £55 plus p&p so I'm really annoyed about it.
Will it throw out shoots from the existing stem if left alone? Please can anyone help

sorry to hear about the roses,any growth from the root stock will be different,we were given a lovely standard the other year,named ruby wedding,the top grafted bit was dead by the year after,but through up suckers,this year i have noticed small white flowers on 1 stem,totely different from the original,i will keep an eye out from now on,see what occures,i sometimes wonder if these things are set up to fail,
