  • Campanula question

    Hi
I wonder if anyone could help me. Last year I bought 3 large pots of Campanula canterbury bells which were in full flower, I planted them in my garden and they continued to flower until the autumn, but this year, although the plants themselves have increased in size and appear to be healthy, they have not produced any flowers at all and I have no idea why this has happened. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Perhaps a tomato feed might encourage them to flower. Or a bit of stess. Did you feed them anything or water them this year yet?

I've seen plenty around the allotments that over wintered and have been in flower for ages. Mine were only sown this spring and have a long way to go.

Oh so maybe its to early for flowers yet then? Yes, I've watered them regularly and fed them weekly since beginning of May, it didn't occur to me that it might be to early for them to flower, Thank you all so much for your help...much appreciated. x

I'm not really a flower person but I thought Canterbury Bells - campanula medium - were bi ennials. i.e there is only foliage the first year, it flowers the second year and then it dies. see here for confirmation

Name of variety? Did you plant in sun or shade?

Campanula medium is a bi-annual. Mine are sending up flower spikes but no flowers yet.
