  • What flower seeds or plants can I put in now?

We've just cleared a very weedy flower bed (sheering and pulling only) that in the spring is rife with daffodils, tulips and bluebells. It's a bit bare now.

Can I plant something pretty and flowery before the weeds come back?

It's a bit late for seeds if you want flowers this summer. Anything from the garden centre would be safe to go out now. Might be an idea to think of a colour scheme first or you can end up with a bit of a hotch potch. Unless you like that effect of course!
Did you shear off all the bulb leaves? They need them for at least six weeks after flowering to feed the bulb and build it up again for flowering next spring. Best off all is to let them die off naturally.

Hmm yes, I did sheer of the bulb leaves. Not on every bed though.... shame! I will be more careful with the other beds but it was a jungle out there!

        Thanks for the link VC
I have some seeds for dill, calendula and borage already!
